Imagine childhood in a place where two of every ten adults and 180,000 children are HIV positive. Where more than a million children have already been orphaned by AIDS. Where hospitals operate without doctors, urban neighborhoods suffer months without water, and unemployment tops 90 percent. Then imagine growing up there without parents because AIDS has wiped out most of their generation.

Those are the realities Zimkids Orphan Trust has helped more than 1,000 children on the meanest streets in Zimbabwe deal with – and overcome.
